Prayers and Beautiful tears on Our Journey

Mangte

June 2, 2008

We set a temporary base camp at Kattamin. From there, we spread out the reliefs aids distribute to the cyclone victims. We had many Christians prayed for us. They said, may God bless you. Even Buddhist prayed for our well-being. They prayed especially for baby Emmanuel and our team who whole heartedly distributed aids to the victims.

The road to the villages were overlaid with mud and salty water. The road was no longer visible. Even the vicinity of village is full of mud.

I feel this trip to be full of risk at many fronts but we are happy to be exposed to such risk. In most instances, we were tired and we had some team members that shed much tears and even as this moment, I can see the smile in one person’s heart as we realized we were helping our fellow human, who was made in the image of God, just like us. There is nothing like smiling with tears, nothing can be compared to that deep felt hope.

We walked on muddy road and inhaled bad odor from decaying human corpses and carcasses along the road.

When we arrived at our camp, we took time to prepare dinner and then we went to bed. No one had any bath as there was no clean water for bath. When we laid down on our beds, we tried to get disconnected from the outside world.
