Villagers from Daunt Gyi embraced us warmthly and made us feel at home. All the villagers welcome us. We are grateful to the hospitality of the people of Daunt Gyi.

Heavy rain that did not cease hindered us from going near to village of Daunt Gyi. So, we called them to come to Daunt Gyi, then we distributed relief aid to 5 villages which were near by Daunt Gyi.

At night, we worship joyfully with the villagers. All the iLoveMyanmar members were seated near the pulpit of the church. The church choir sang is very sweetly like the angelic choir. This was especially true when we sang the song "baby Jesus was born in Bethlehem."

During the worship time, we prayed for the people whose birth-day falls on May and June. Last year, during this time, there were 19 people from this village that received their birthday blessing from the church but there is only 14 people were left from that group. The remaining 5 have been missing after the cyclone. Their bodies have not been found.

We presented Sakaw Karen Bible to each person. I was amazed that they didn’t forget God even in the midst of such big trouble. We sang the same song with colorful dialects. The Kachin people sang in Kachin dialect. Chin, Shan, and Burmese all sang in our own dialects. I think God knows every dialect and likes diversity.

I will never forget about the Daunt Gyi village, where I was asked to present a solo offering song to the Lord.

Arriving Daoh Gyi

Near Daunt Gyi village, we found three bodies in the field. Our team went ahead to the field and buried one dead body. We think this person was about 13 years old girl.

The remaining two bodies seem like a couple as they embraced one another. We couldn’t bury them because there was too much water in the field. Our team decided to bury them in next trip.

We asked they villagers why didn’t they bury these dead bodies? Their were simply replied, "we were too busy finding ways to feed ourselves. We have no time to do the other things."

These villagers work as fishermen. After cyclone, they continue to have good catch but they had no market to sell the fish they caught. Besides, people don’t want to eat fishes because they thought these fishes are consuming dead human bodies in the water as their diet. Thus, they had to eat their own catch of fishes which they couldn’t sell. They had no cash income and there is also no vegetable. All the vegetable perished due to the strong wind and flood. We ate instant noodle, sardine which we brought from Yangon.
